Series of visual documents record a changing landscape, following the profit-driven development of Istanbul through an understanding of urban imagery. A work in progress, this project presents evidence to argue the impossibility of control over the how a city is encountered and experienced, arguing that people’s various interactions with any city both form and preserve its character, through images and memory, acknowledging the passage of time without favouring the past, present or future.

Books of drawings over outdated screenshots from Google Maps, drawings layered one over another in time-lapse composites, skylines and street scenes explore the formation of the city as a subjective entity made by those who inhabit it.
