The premise: there is no single, satisfactory definition of “home“. In this series, home doesn’t come from a single place, but rather the set of feelings that connect us to places and our time with them.

Each layer is carefully crafted from post-consumer paper to represent a single place in time, presented alongside others to visually represent complex relationships with places.

This series is a study in color and a foray into the rural. It examines what is green and golden as the sun sets, how to convey crisp and cool before the snow falls.

It’s a continuation into the essentials of a place when it intersects time and experience, an exploration of what one finds outside, inside, and around.

Inspired by the warm yellow buildings and walls that pop up around Istanbul, these works honor certain moments of a sort of urban sublime - a moment in exploration when a seemingly mundane element of the city catches the attention and colors the spirit of the place.
